Chocolate Cake Recipe
This decadent chocolate cake is a must-try for any chocolate lover. It's moist, rich, and full of chocolatey goodness.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients, and mix until well combined. Stir in the boiling water. The batter will be thin.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove them from the pans and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once the cakes have cooled, prepare your favorite chocolate frosting.
- Place one cake layer on a serving plate and spread a layer of frosting on top. Place the second cake layer on top of the first, and then spread frosting evenly over the top and sides of the entire cake.
- Decorate the cake with additional frosting, chocolate shavings, or any other desired toppings.
- Allow the cake to set for at least 30 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
